I do mixed media paintings mainly on canvas sometimes on paper or wood. I start with acrylic paints and build up layers. After a few layers of paint I collage and then paint some more often revealing the surfaces beneath by masking, using transparent colors or scratching into the surface. The final surface is often coated with a thin layer of oil paint and cold wax.
