Description:
This series of topically driven kilnworked glass scupltures combines a number of hot and cold working techniques. These include fusing, slumping, torchworking, casting, sandblasting, grinding, polishing and hot manipulation (opening the kiln at processing temperatures and repositioning the glass while pliable). Sheet glass, glass frit and powders, roid and handpulled stringer are used. This technical and material diversity widens my ability to select and translate detail.
