Gourds are vessels created by nature. After drying in the fields, the cleaning process is begun. The natural molds are removed from the outside of the gourds. They are then cut and prepared for dyeing. Various dyes, inks and stains are used to color the gourds before applying pine needles, philodendron sheaths, date stems and other natural materials. They are embellished with semi-precious stones from around the world.
