Dracaena Vase

Medium: Hand-thrown vase of white stoneware, with a burnished terra sigillata surface. Vase then blackened by saggar-smoke firing. Then the vase is overlaid, glued and stitched with the natural, unaltered leaf base of the "Dragon Tree", the Dracaena Draco.

EARLY MODEL

Medium: A vessel of iron infused concrete with iron oxide pigments integral to each sedementary layer. Found objects. Cast into a custom made mold, cured, ground, and honed to a satin finish.

FURUI O - Old King

Medium: An elliptically shaped vessel partially deconstructed. The piece has been cast, built up and honed The armature of woven rusted wire demonstrates the fading and decomposition of a facade. The vintage Japanese Yakiin brand is the character for "old".

Golden Nest Basket

Medium: Coiled and stitched basket of dyed Lecheguilla, the fiber found in the leaf of the Spanish Dagger Agave. The dried fiber is originally pale blonde, and takes rich color wonderfully.

Medium: Figure created out of a vintage camera (that opens and closes) tintype photograph, recycled hardware, wood and metal, spools and beads. Hand painted face. A family tree is collaged on the back. Designed to hang on the wall.

Medium: Figure created out of a vintage pencil box that latches. Outside is collaged with a passport, citizenship papers and text. Inside contains a birth certificate, papers for steerage from Italy, tintype and memorabilia. Piece can be displayed open or closed.

Medium: Mixed media figure created out of a vintage post office box; the key opens it to reveal a vintage Italian postcard and space for a hidden treasure. Letter press, spools, antique hardware and reclaimed rusty metal are also included in this assemblage.

Medium: The piece has been hand cast with concrete, fibre and metal into a handmade mold. After curing, the piece is released, then ground and honed. To finish, the piece is sealed and waxed.
